Ibiza: Chef at popular restaurant charged over 'attack on customer' who sent back food

A chef at a popular Ibiza restaurant has been charged after he allegedly assaulted a German customer who sent back food.

They said the 37-year-old Spaniard shouted aggressively as he rushed over to the 72-year-old's table.

Police said in a statement the customer had complained the dish was in a bad state and wasn't what he ordered.

The man is said to have hurt his neck and back when the chef pushed him over, with the alleged attacker smashing a plate on the floor and continuing to insult him.

The German customer was first diagnosed with light bruising at a health centre, police added.

However, a few days later he needed surgery for two blood clots in his chest that hampered his breathing.
