Window business in Glenrothes asks employees to work from home in precaution against coronavirus

Velux in Glenrothes has asked its 120 employees to work from home in a precaution against the coronavirus.

The firm says the move would be for the 'forseeable future', amid the ongoing situation surrounding COVID-19 nationally.

The health and safety of the company's most vulnerable employees is its main priority, says the firm.

In a statement, Mick Schou Rasmussen, VELUX's Managing Director said: "With the constantly evolving situation surrounding COVID-19, VELUX has taken the precautionary measure to ask our 120 employees, based in our Glenrothes head office, who can work from home to do so for the foreseeable future.

"We have also advised against non business critical travel.

"Our main priorities are the health and safety of our most vulnerable employees and to honour our societal duty to help contain the COVID-19 virus from spreading further.

"We are continuing to monitor the situation and our business is working to safeguard operations and customer service."
