Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are being told to expect disruption around the Forth Road Bridge.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for high winds throughout the day.
Staff say the crossing is likely to stay open to cars, but public transport and HGVs.
Other motorists are advised to check the weather forecast and adjust their travel plans as required.
The closure is expected to extend to cyclists and pedestrians as well.
Barry Colford, Chief Engineer & Bridgemaster, said: “The forecast for Saturday indicates winds at a level that will cause significant disruption to bridge traffic.
“It is unlikely that the bridge will close to cars, however we would still advise all bridge users to keep an eye on the weather and plan accordingly.”
