Awareness raising campaign to prevent Fifers falling victim to unsolicited doorstep traders.
Fife Trading Standards are reminding householders to stay alert against rogue traders operating in the area.
Whilst many doorstep traders are honest and genuine, rogue traders will often use cold calling tactics and pressurise potential victims into making quick decisions.
In addition, the work that they carry out may be of poor quality, unnecessary and charged at extortionate rates.
Dawn Adamson, Lead Trading Standards Officer at Fife Council says "If an uninvited trader calls at your door and offers to do work, stop and think twice. Politely explain that you don't buy on the doorstep. Never agree to have work carried out there and then. If you need a tradesman ask for recommendations from your friends, relatives or neighbours."
Householders are being advised to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood via Police Scotland on their non-emergency number 101.
