Carers and vulnerable people are being warned of a rise in bogus sales people.
A person using the name Laura or Lorna has been contacting patients in the Glenrothes and North East of the region at their homes, claiming to be from an organisation with a name involving "healthcare" or "primary care".
Lesley Childs from Fife Carers is telling us how the con artists tend to pick their victims:
A spokesperson for the local health board said: "NHS Fife would like to reassure the public that no one from the NHS would approach someone in this manner. All our staff carry identification which the public can ask to see.
"We would not pass on any patient details to a third party selling health-related products.
"If any of our patients have been approached in this manner we would urge them to contact the Police."
