Walk For Peace

Hundreds of school pupils, parents and members of the Glenrothes community will come together tonight to walk for peace.

The event, to remember those who've died since the start of World War One, has been organised by students and the local Rotary Club.

Glenwood High's Head Boy, James Paxon, says walkers will set off from the building at 6.30pm bound for the Glenrothes War Memorial:

A short ceremony will also take place where schools will pay their respects by laying a white wreath.

Pupils will also address the audience, where they'll read extracts from soldiers diaries.

One of those who'll also be remembered is local solider, Private Marc Ferns, who was killed in Iraq ten years ago.
