Two people have died after a crash between Kelty and Saline.
It happened on the B914 at Blairadam on Sunday night at about 8.50pm.
Police have now confirmed the people killed were a man and a woman.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Formal identification is still to take place.
They were in a white Mercedes AMG C43 which was travelling towards Kelty and left the road.
It then caught fire with two appliances sent to the scene.
The road was closed from Sunday night, and remained shut on Monday for investigation work.
It has now reopened.
Inspector James Henry of Fife road policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man and woman who died.
“An investigation is underway and we are appealing for information that could assist with our enquiries.
“If you were in the area at the time then please get in touch, particularly if you have dash-cam footage that could help.”
