Tributes paid to Dundee care worker who died from suspected Covid-19

The operator of a Dundee care home, where a worker died from suspected Covid-19, has paid tribute to them.

As revealed by Wave FM News yesterday, the worker - whose identity hasn't been revealed - died following an outbreak at Pitkerro Care Centre.

In a statement, Jennifer Wishart, Scotland regional manager for parent company Hudson Healthcare, described the staff member as "wonderfully compassionate, extremely hard-working, and much-loved".

She said: "The entire Pitkerro Care Centre family were devastated by the passing of one of our staff members over the bank holiday weekend.

"The member of staff had been receiving hospital care in relation to Covid-19 symptoms.

"Our thoughts are with their family and friends during this difficult time, and we are providing support to the family where possible."

The Care Inspectorate has confirmed it is aware of the death.
