Police Seek Help Over Train Assault

British Transport Police officers investigating an assault on a 71-year-old man in April are appealing for a man who may be able to help them with their inquiries.

He is described as about 5ft 8in in height, aged in his early 40s, medium build, short black hair and wearing a blue checked shirt, blue hooded jacket and shorts. The assault took place shortly before 9.30pm on Saturday, 11 April 2015 after the victim had travelled on a train from South Gyle.

Detective Constable Donna Davanna, the BTP the officer in charge of the enquiry, said: "I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man in the photograph to contact me as a matter of urgency."

Anyone with information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016 – quoting reference B13 of 2015.

Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
