Three Carpetright stores in Fife close down after firm collapses

Carpetright has shut all its shops in Fife after the retailer entered insolvency.

Stores in Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes are now closed.

It leaves the retailer with only four stores in Scotland, Bishopbriggs, Dumbarton, Dumfries and Edinburgh.

Affected customers, who have outstanding orders, should seek refunds through their card providers.

More than 1,500 staff have lost their jobs while 308 are being retained.

An administration deal's been reached with rival firm Tapi to buy 54 stores across the rest of the UK.

Tapi has stores in Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline.
