Fife residents are grappling with the effects of Storm Babet, which has brought heavy rainfall and strong winds to the region.

There are concerns that over a month's worth of rain could drench the area within the next 48 hours, exacerbating worries about potential damage.

Multiple warnings have been issued, including a critical "danger to life" alert, in response to the extreme weather conditions.

There will be no LNER trains running north of Edinburgh, while Scotrail has taken the proactive step of temporarily shutting down the Fife Circle.

It's currently developing a revised timetable to manage the situation effectively.

Restrictions have been implemented on the Tay Road Bridge, Queensferry Crossing and Forth Road Bridge in light of the challenging weather conditions.

Power outages are impacting the Burntisland area with postcodes KY39XP, KY39XR, KY39XS, and are expected to be restored by noon on Thursday.

Cuts are also affecting the Cupar and Kirkcaldy areas – both supplies are estimated to be restored at 12.56pm on Thursday.

Fife residents are urged to remain cautious and stay informed about the ongoing impacts of Storm Babet.

Stay safe and stay updated during this challenging weather event.
