The Glenrothes West and Kinglassie by-election has been won by the Nationalists.
Craig Walker was confirmed as the area's new representative in the early hours of this morning with 2, 539 votes.
Labour came second with 1, 643 votes, followed by the Conservatives on 202.
UKIP came fourth with 146 votes, while the Liberal Democrats could only manage 61 votes.
The by-election was prompted by the death of Labour councillor Betty Campbell in January.
The result means the Glenrothes Area Committee can now be controlled by the Nationalists.
