New data shows extreme amounts of sewage has been spilling out onto Lower Largo beach
Analysis by The Ferret found the highest concentrations of waste this summer were found on the village's shoreline.
In the time it was monitored between May and September, levels were found to be at least 50 times the safe limit on three separate occasions.

Liberal Democrats MSP for North East Fife, Willie Rennie is pushing for sewers to be upgraded.
He said: "Our beaches should be enjoyed by everyone, but no one will want to paddle or swim in them if they think they are taking a dip in water polluted by filth and waste.
"If this is deemed acceptable, then it is evidence that ministers and government owned water company are out of their depth.
"The environment secretary needs to come to parliament to face our calls to ban dumping on Scotland's best beaches and to explain why her government keep allowing spills which are poisoning our beaches, rivers and waterways.
"Scottish Liberal Democrats also want to see sewage discharges properly recorded and published to uncover the true scale of the problem.
"Legally binding targets to tackle sewage dumping and measures to upgrade Scotland's Victorian sewage systems. It's time to end this sewage scandal."
A SEPA spokesperson said: “Scotland’s bathing water quality is the best it has been since 2015 when tighter standards first came into force.
“This summer’s season started with more bathing waters than ever before, and a record-breaking number rated excellent.
“The most common causes of water quality issues in Scotland are short term pollution following heavy rainfall.”
