The parents of a Dalgety Bay teenager who died from sepsis are taking a campaign to Westminster.
Tracy and Allan Straker will meet with the UK Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt today to discuss ways of raising awareness of the deadly form of blood poisoning.
Their daughter, Emma, died suddenly from sepsis last October.
She had been suffering from flu around five weeks before her death and had been prescribed antibiotics.
The university student began to feel unwell again with a sore throat but thought she was suffering from a second dose of flu.
Emma went to bed and never woke again.
Her parents, Tracy and Allan Straker, have already raised more than £5, 000 for The UK Sepsis Trust.
They hope today's meeting will lead to greater awareness of the symptoms of sepsis.
