Descendants of fisherman who killed at sea 250 years ago are seeking others for a special memorial.
Eight men lost their lives in the Crail Fishing disaster when their boat sank in the village's harbourmouth on January 21, 1765.
Affected families are planning a special memorial on 16th May to commemorate those who died and left a community "devastated".
Events will include an engraved public seat being placed at the harbour is to be donated from funds collected byone of the families, flowers will be thrown into the sea off the harbour, followed by a small memorial ceremony at Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther where a calligraphed entry will be written in the Museum’s Memorial Book.
The names of those who drowned are Brown, Burns, Cunningham, Dewar, Kay, Ramsay, Runciman & Taylor, however daughters introduced other surnames to the direct descendants.
