The majority of Scottish renters don't know they're responsible for keeping themselves safe from carbon monoxide.
A survey suggests two in thirds wrongly think their landlord or letting agent is responsible for their protection.
And that two fifths don’t have a carbon monoxide alarm in their home.
FINDINGS
- Two thirds (67%) – the highest figure in the UK – of tenants in Scotland mistakenly believe their landlord or letting agent is responsible for their protection
- Two thirds (68%) of people sharing a wall with an adjacent property, but 59% of them are unaware the lethal gas can seep through walls.
- Two fifths (41%) of Scots don’t have a carbon monoxide alarm in their home.
