A street has been cordoned off in Milnathort after what is thought to be an unexploded bomb was found in the town.
Emergency services including bomb disposal experts have been called to Victoria Avenue.
Some residents have been evacuated.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance in Milnathort after what is believed to be an unexploded ordnance device was found in the Victoria Avenue area.
"A cordon remains in place while specialist teams examine the item.
"A number of properties have been evacuated as a precaution."
