Re-Building Dura Den

Work has begun to reconnect a village that's been cut off from the rest of Fife for over two years.

Dura Den was devastated by flooding in October 2012, houses were damaged and the C45 road to Dundee was shut after retaining walls collapsed.

Fife Council says the total cost of the project, which is expected to take six months, is approximately £1.4 million.

Cllr Pat Callaghan, Executive Spokesperson for Environment and Transportation said: "In December the contractor began with ground preparation works. This month, I’m delighted to see work starting on the new retaining wall.

"Once again, I thank local residents for their patience and ask for their continued support during the works."
