Police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a car in Glenrothes.
The discovery was made on Cable Road on Monday morning, close to the town's recycling centre.
Officers are treating the death as unexplained.
A section of the road was sealed off on Monday and forensics officers were working at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers in Glenrothes were called to Cable Road around 9am on Monday August 9 to reports of the sudden death of a woman found within a vehicle.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries are at an early stage.”
It is understood activity at a property in nearby Leslie is also linked to the investigation.
