Police in Fife are appealing for information after an elderly woman was robbed in Leven town centre.
The 79-year-old was approached from behind by a man this morning, who pushed to the ground and took her groceries.
The man then ran in the direction of William Laing Crescent.
The incident happened on a path between North Street and Nairn Street at around 9am.
The suspect was described as wearing dark trousers, a dark jacket, a dark surgical mask and a dark baseball cap. He was also carrying a rucksack at the time.
Detective Inspector Chris Mill said: "This was a terrifying incident which has left the woman involved very shaken.
"We are keen to trace the man responsible as soon as possible and are appealing for the public’s help.
"If you were in the area around the time of the incident and saw anything or the man described please contact police as soon as possible.
"I would also urge anyone who might have dashcam footage of the area or private CCTV to check and come forward with any relevant footage."
