Police say a man had a "frightening experience" of racial abuse being directed at him on a bus in Fife.
Officers say it happened on the X27 service running between Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy on Thursday 12 May at around 10.20pm.
The man targeted took the service from the city when another man shouted racist abuse at him.
Police Scotland are appealing for information (Facebook link) and have described the man they are looking for as white, around 5 foot 2 and in his late thirties.
The force also say at the time of the incident, he was wearing a green khaki jacket.
A woman is also being asked by police to speak to them who they say saw the incident.
Inquiries are ongoing.
Police Constable Kieran McCusker said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim and we are asking for the help of the public to trace the man responsible.
"I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
"We would be particularly interested in speaking with a woman who was also travelling on the X27 bus and witnessed the incident and would ask that she gets in touch."
A Stagecoach East Scotland spokesperson said: "We absolutely do not tolerate racial abuse on board our services.
"We will assist the police with their investigations into this appalling incident."
