We're being warned to expect travel disruption on the A92 starting this weekend.
Roadworks will be in place near Lochgelly from Sunday (30 June) until 12 July.
The work will deliver new vehicle safety barriers on the eastbound and westbound verges under the A92 overbridge near Westerton Farm, approximately 1km west of the B9149 Lochgelly junction.
The improvements, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, are part of a £480,000 project delivering road safety improvements on three sections of the A92.
The schemes are being carried out back-to-back in order to minimise long term disruption to travellers.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken under a mixture of lane closures and overnight convoys, as follows:
- Sunday 30 June (to install a temporary barrier): Lane 1 closures and overnight convoy on both the east and west A92 carriageways.
- Monday 1 July to Thursday 4 July & Sunday 7 July to Wednesday 10 July: Lane 1 closures on both the east and west A92 carriageways.
- Thursday 11 July (to remove the temporary barrier): Lane 1 closures and overnight convoy on both the east and west A92 carriageways.
The lane closures will be lifted each morning at 6.30am before being put back in place each night at 7.30pm.
A 50 mph speed limit will remain in place for the duration of the work.
