Cowdenbeath say Colin Nish is the right man to steer them back into the Championship.
The 34 year old striker's been named player/manager for next season after being signed in December by Jimmy Nicholl before his resigned following the club's relegation to League One.
In a statement, chairman Donald Findlay said Nish will bring great enthusiasm and a wealth of experience to the role, saying his badges make him "a highly qualified coach".
Mr Findlay said: "I have no doubt that he is the right man for the job and am grateful that he accepted my offer to become our manager. He will bring great enthusiasm to the task and we will continue to benefit from his contributions as a player.
"I hope, and expect, that everyone connected with Cowdenbeath FC will give him their full backing. The Club’s ambitions remain undiminished and everything will be done to help him get us back to winning ways after the disappointment of the season just past”.
Nish scored four goals in 13 games for the Blue Brazil last season, including a hat-trick against Raith Rovers, after joining from Dumbarton.
He started his career at Dunfermline, before spells at Dundee, Hibernian, Kilmarnock, Hartlepool, Clyde and Alloa.
