A group of girls from Fife are jumping for joy after being selected to represent Scotland in cheerleading for the first time.

A total of nine will all be attending the world championships in Florida in April next year.

For six of them it'll be their first time doing it.

Team Scotland is made up of both cheerleading and dance teams of varying styles who compete in different divisions across different age ranges.

Three of the nine will be hoping to improve on last year's record breaking result.

The youth and senior teams both made it to finals for the first time, both placing top 10 in the world.

Ellie Goldwyre, Summer Wroniecki, Anna Gilfillan, Zara Langford, Jessica King, Casey McQueen, Nicole Middleton, Sasha Write and Libby Smith have been chosen to be a part of the team.

They train at clubs and gyms across the country - Glow Extreme Cheer and Dance in Cupar, Spotlight Cheer and Dance in Dunfermline and Rain Allstars in Musselburgh.

They all need to pay their own way there.

They have all begun fundraising for travel costs, accommodation and have to buy their own kit.
