Work to lay the first foundations of a new school in Kirkcaldy has begun.
A brand new Viewforth High is to be built on the existing playing fields on Windmill Road.
The current building, in the east of Kirkcaldy, has fallen into a state of disrepair.
The new build will include a local office, a library and a community facility.
Pupils and staff at Rosslyn special needs school will also move in once the site is complete.
Viewforth staff, pupils, members of the community and councillors have gathered today to lay the first foundation stone and to bury a time capsule.
