The Medical Director of NHS Fife says many patients who are unwell with coronavirus aren't fully vaccinated.
Dr Christopher McKenna is urging Fifers due a Covid-19 to get vaccinated.
He says that it's "far and away the best means" of reducing the risk of becoming sick as a result of the virus.
Information about the coronavirus vaccine is available on NHS Inform's website.
Meanwhile, Dr McKenna adds that in recent weeks, a "considerable" number of people admitted to hospital for non-coronavirus conditions are also being found to be positive for the virus during the initial screening process
According to the health board, nearly 270 of its staff are off work due to either getting Covid-19 or having to self-isolate.
In a video on NHS Fife's Facebook page that you can watch below, Dr McKenna says this month is going to be challenging, but the health board can get through it with the people of Fife's help.
