A man has been fined and two people injured after a car overturned in a two car crash near Kirkcaldy.
It happened on Standing Stane Road between the town and Leven just after 6.30am this morning (Tuesday).
Two fire appliances, along with police and paramedics, were sent to the scene.
The drivers of both vehicles, a 25-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man, have been taken to Victoria hospital for treatment.
The extent of their injuries isn't known.
Motorists faced long tailbacks as the road was blocked for about 90 minutes.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.35am we were called to a two vehicle crash on Standing Stane Road, Kirkcaldy.
“The drivers of both vehicles, a 25-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man, were taken to hospital.
“The man was also issued with a fixed penalty notice in connection with a road traffic offence.
“The road was closed while recovery took place and reopened around 8am.”
