Man dies after being hit by a car near Inverkeithing

A 36-year-old man has died after being hit by a car near Inverkeithing on Monday night.

The incident happened at around 10:20pm on the A921, near the roundabout junction with the B981 North Road.

It involved a Suzuki Celerio and the pedestrian who was struck was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he passed away yesterday.

The 63-year-old driver of the vehicle wasn't injured.

Sergeant Alastair Purvis from the Road Policing Unit in Glenrothes said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family and friends at this difficult time.

"Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information or dashcam footage who has not yet spoken to police to make contact.

"You can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 4071 of 20 April."
