Man Charged After Body Is Recovered

Police investigating the disappearance of Carol-Anne Taggart from Dunfermline have found her body.

Enquiries have been ongoing to trace Carol-Anne since she was reported missing on 22nd December 2014.

A detailed search of her home in Hill of St Margaret was initially undertaken followed by a search of the Pettycur Caravan Park in Kinghorn on Monday 12th January, where she owned a unit.

Police have confirmed that Carol-Anne's body was found on the site and recovered late on Monday evening, a post mortem has been carried out.

Officers say a 30-year old man has been charged in connection with the investigation and is due to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court at a later date.

Detective Chief Inspector Keith Hardie said: "Throughout this enquiry we had always hoped to trace Carol-Anne and return her home safe and well.

"However, following the discovery of her body we believe her death to be suspicious and a man is currently in police custody.

"I would like to thank the public for their assistance and support during our investigation and would urge anyone who believes they may still have information, but has yet to contact police, to do so immediately."
