The High Street in Leven is accessible to pedestrians again, following a recent major fire there.

People are able to walk along the street again, using the access ramp and steps outside the TSB bank.

But work is ongoing to assess how the blaze damaged buildings.

Sixteen appliances were dispatched by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service last Tuesday (8 November), but there were no casualties.

Kingdom FM was told last week by Poundstretcher, the discount store damaged by the flames, that it has asked property agents to find a potential new location for the store.

A Facebook post on Our Levenmouth's page reads: "Leven high street shops and services are largely back in business and open to the public as normal and we’ve now opened up a pedestrian walkway on the High Street.

"Pedestrians can now walk down the High Street using the access ramp and steps outside the TSB Bank.

"Access for wheelchairs and pushchairs is via Bank Street and down the lane at the side of the Windsor Bar.

"Please make sure you follow the signs.

"Due to the complexity of the situation, work is ongoing to assess the buildings affected by the fire.

"Thank you for your patience and co-operation."
