The sister of murdered army veteran Ean Coutts says his "evil killer" has finally got what he deserved.
Former delivery driver and tradesman David Barnes has been jailed for life with a minimum of 23 years for murdering the father of three at his flat in Kinglassie in 2019, which he was redecorating at the time.
He then dumped Mr Coutts' remains in a disused building at Whitehill Industrial Estate in Glenrothes, where they were found by urban explorers a year later.
Barnes was last month found guilty of murdering the 60-year-old and attempting to defeat the ends of justice by setting fire to his body.
During his sentencing at the High Court in Glasgow, judge Lord Mulholland said Barnes posed a “high risk” of reoffending, and a “considerable risk” of public harm.
He added there was no guarantee he will ever be granted parole.
