Jobs Help For Former Tullis Workers

Tullis Russell went into administration last week

Former Tullis Russell workers are being given the chance to find new job and training opportunities.

Fife businesses have joined forces with Skills Development Scotland to fill existing vacancies and offer new career opportunities. 325 employees lost their jobs at the paper mill last week, with a further 149 expected to go once outstanding orders are fulfilled.

The Job Centre and Money Advice Service are among the groups offering help to former employees. Partnership Action for Continuing Employment has arranged the event in conjunction with Skills Development Scotland.

Neville Prentice is a senior director at SDS, he told Kingdom FM News what workers are facing at the moment:

Administrators KPMG, Fife Council, the Scottish Government and union representatives are continuing to work to find re-employment and training for all affected former staff members.
