Hundreds of Fifers have greeted His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen Consort in Dunfermline, Scotland's newest city this century.
It was The King and Queen Consort's first official engagement since the mourning period for the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Lord Lieutenant of Fife, Robert Balfour, greeted Their Majesties before introducing them to key dignataries, which included the Provost of Fife Jim Leishman, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, Scottish Secretary Alister Jack and Chief Constable of Police Scotland Sir Iain Livingstone QPM.
Before entering Dunfermline City Chambers, The King made his way round the crowd to greet locals and shake their hands.
His Majesty then conferred city status on Dunfermline after it became one in his Mum's Plantinum Jubilee year.
