The help and support available to problem drinkers is being highlighted this week during a focus on alcohol awareness.
But often forgotten is the partners and loved ones of alcoholics, many of whom suffer just as much.
Al-Anon supports people who are affected by someone else's drinking - there are 4 such groups in Fife. Two groups meet in Dunfermline, with a further two helping Fifers in Cupar and Kirkcaldy.
