The DHP fund which helps lessen the effects of the bedroom tax will run next year too
A fund that helps those affected by the bedroom tax will continue for the next year.
Fife Council's Discretionary Housing Payment (DHP) which aims to fill the gap between a tenants housing benefit and their rent will be place until 2016.
An additional £407,000 has been set aside to help those who qualify.
Councillor Judy Hamilton, Executive Spokesperson for Housing and Building Services, explained: "The DHP fund can help any tenant whose Housing Benefit payments do not cover the full cost of their rent. Fife Council has worked extremely hard to mitigate the effects of the bedroom tax for tenants in Fife; however I am aware some tenants have yet to make a claim. Everyone affected by the bedroom tax qualifies for a DHP payment, but you need to apply. I’d encourage any tenant who hasn’t claimed yet to do so as soon as possible"
