Fife Flyers have made their third new signing of the season.
Shayne Stockton, a right handed centre, joins from French side Amiens Gothics after a year across the Channel.
The 26 year old New Yorker has averaged at least 20 points a season in his senior career - scoring 27 from 25 games last year, at a ratio of a point per game.
The 6'2 centre spent four seasons with College of the Holy Cross in the NCAA before going professional at the French club.
Stockton said it is an "honour" to join the Kirkcaldy side.
He said: “I have heard nothing but great things about the team and organization. With the tradition of the club and community support, it was an easy decision that Fife is where I want to play. But with that being said, there is work to be done this off-season and I’m using this as motivation to prepare myself for this year.”
“I’m very excited to see how the team shapes up the rest of summer. I am looking forward to being a Flyer and having a successful season as a team.”
Stockton is the club's third new signing of the season, joining Ryan Dingle, Michael Dorr, with last year's captain Kyle Haines also filling an import slot.
'Defensively responsible'
Fife Flyers say they are delighted with the signing "for many reasons."
In a statement, the club said: "He is coming off his first full year pro in which he scored over a point a game, and led his team in playoff scoring. He was also third best plus/minus in the league at +19 in 25 games.”
“He moves well for his size and for a playmaking centre he shoots the puck really well. His ability to play both sides of the puck gives us another defensively responsible centre but also one that will produce for us offensively.”
“He is still young and progressing and we hope he will take his game to the next level this upcoming season.”
