Firefighters tackle large blaze in Cupar

Firefighters have been called to deal with a large blaze in northern Fife.

Large plumes of smoke have been seen across the area surrounding Cupar Trading Estate, and there are reports of people being evacuated from nearby buildings.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 10.23am to reports of a fire within a building at Cupar Trading Estate, Fife.

"Operations control has mobilised nine fire appliances, two height vehicles and a number of specialist resources to the scene where firefighters are working to extinguish the flames.

"No injuries have been reported and all surrounding buildings have been evacuated.

"Crews will remain in attendance for some time."

Local businessman Liam McKay told Kingdom FM News he had heard "five or six" explosions, some which shook the ground.

The estate is based to the east of the town, just off the A91.
