Ten Fife communities have been congratulated by the Government for taking action on climate change.
Projects in Aberdour, Cupar and Falkland are among those to have signed up to a pledge, run by Keep Scotland Beautiful. They are asked to commit to tackling the causes and effect of a changing climate in their area.
Scottish Government targets are for a 42% reduction in emissions by the year 2020, and for 80% to be cut by 2050.
Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform, Aileen McLeod MSP said:
"Climate change affects us all and we must all play our part in tackling it. It is fantastic to see the efforts being made by hundreds of community groups across Scotland and together we are making great progress, with Scotland already three quarters of the way towards meeting our 42 per cent emissions reduction target by 2020.
"Scotland’s Climate Change Pledge for Communities is a great way for people to take part in projects in their local area, and l hope the tremendous range of community action being demonstrated through the Pledge will encourage others to get involved in tackling climate change."
