Fife Man Moving Forward

Kain Ramsay

A military veteran, who overcame incredible hardship, has decided to devote his life to helping others.

Kain Ramsay from Dunfermline joined the British Army when he was 16 and served for nine years.

He left the military in 2006 but suffered from PTSD, depression, alcoholism, drug addiction, bankruptcy, joblessness, and homelessness.

He racked up a criminal record for various offences, his girlfriend died, and he attempted suicide three times.

After hitting rock bottom, Kain managed to turn his life around by starting a business as a personal development coach and created a series of courses that focus on motivation, personal breakthrough, confidence, and building healthy relationships.

His online work has allowed him to reach nearly 10,000 students.

In 2013 Kain also founded the not-for-profit, Solid Grounds, a coaching and mentoring service for former military personnel that helps them through their transition from military to civilian life.

We caught up with Kain to find out more about his story.
