A 69-year-old man from Fife has died at the scene of a car crash in Wales.
The incident, which involved just one vehicle, a grey Mercedes, happened on the eastbound M4 between junctions 30 and 32 around 12.15pm on Sunday.
That stretch of motorway is located on the outskirts of the Welsh capital, Cardiff.
An appeal for witnesses has been launched by South Wales Police.
The force has expressed its sympathies for the man's family.
A statement on the force's Facebook page reads: "We are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle road traffic collision which happened on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 between junctions 30 and 32 at around 12.15pm on Sunday (November 20) and involved a grey Mercedes.
"The car collided with the central reservation before coming to a halt of the hard shoulder.
"The driver for the car, a 69-year-old man from Fife, Scotland, died at the scene.
"Our thoughts are with the man's family at this time.
"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or the way in which the grey Mercedes was being driven prior to the incident, or who may have any dash-cam footage to contact us.
