Fife councillor assaulted by off-road biker

Police are investigating after a Fife councillor was attacked while walking her dog in Cardenden.

Councillor Rosemary Liewald was walking in Bowhill Woods at around 7.15pm on Sunday (18 August) when a teenage boy riding an off-road motorbike smacked her in the face.

She was knocked to the ground, leaving her with a bloody face, a swollen lip and scratches on her arm.

Police Scotland is now appealing for information to identify the culprit.

Inspector Michael Booker of Cowdenbeath Police Station said: “We are keen to trace the rider of the off-road bike.

"He is around 13-17 years old, of slim build, wearing a blue Addidas tracksuit top, dark blue tracksuit bottoms.

"He was also wearing a blue motorbike helmet with white stripes.

“The bike he was riding was a green off-road bike.

“Anyone with information regarding the identity of the male is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 3141 of Sunday, 18 August, 2024.”
