Fife bus driver commended for saving woman's life

A Dunfermline bus driver's been recognised for his work in saving a woman's life.

Colin Hunter was specially commended at the Scottish Transport Awards in the frontline employee of the year category, for taking action when he saw a woman attempting to climb over a wall at a railway bridge.

It also recognised his work in training new staff.

Meanwhile, Stagecoach's Jet747 service between Fife and Edinburgh Airport was commended for best bus service.

The firm's "Bussed It, Bossed It" youth campaign also received a commendation for excellence in travel information and marketing.

Sarah Elliott, Commercial Director for Stagecoach East Scotland, said “It was fantastic to attend the awards last week and see so many great transport teams and projects across Scotland be recognised.

"However, it was especially good to see our own staff and work be commended in three categories.

"Congratulations to all the winners and other nominees!”
