Farron: 'We Were Right' To Govern With Tories

Liberal Democrat leaders Willie Rennie and Tim Farron drum up support in Cupar

Too many SNP representatives in Parliament is 'bad for democracy'.

That is according to Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron.

On a visit to North East Fife he said the last 6 months have proved that his party were right to join the Tories in a coalition, and acted as a restraint against policies like tax credit cuts that are now being implemented.

He joined potential young voters, youth leaders and Scottish Liberal Democrat politicians at the Cupar Youth Cafe, a youth club in North East Fife.

Speaking to Kingdom FM News, Mr Farron said the Nationalists have not performed well enough in Scotland, and that his party provide an 'economically competent, but socially just' alternative, occupying the 'radical centre' ground.

The visit conicided with the announcement of the North East Fife Scottish Youth Parliament election results, won by Kirsty Rodger of Lower Largo.
