The family of an 11-year-old boy have paid tribute to him following his death at a Fife race track at the weekend.

Millar Buchanan from Larbert passed away following an incident in Crail on Saturday.

Police were called at around 6.50pm to reports of a crash involving an off-road bike.

Emergency services attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the Health and Safety Executive are aware.

Millar’s family has released the following statement through Police Scotland, which reads: "We are truly heartbroken that we have lost our amazing, talented, beautiful boy in the most tragic accident, doing what he loved the most.

"We cannot describe how painful this is or how much we are going to miss our little star.

"We are completely overwhelmed with the kind wishes & words that we have received and want to send lots of love to each and every person who has shown their support."

The East of Scotland Kart Club has also paid tribute to Millar in a post on its Facebook page.

A separate earlier post from the club's page also said the track would be shut until further notice.

Anyone wishing to lay flowers can do so this Thursday between 6pm and 9pm.
