Plaques at Dunfermline Crematorium are to moved so a new wall can be constructed.
Plaques will be removed from a wall in Dunfermline Crematorium this week to allow for a new one to be constructed.
The work affects section A of the Garden of Remembrance.
Fife Council are reassuring mourners that the plaques will be temporarily re-positioned and will still be easily accessible.
Willie Greig, Bereavement Services Officer, explained: “The condition of the memorial wall has deteriorated and it’s now time to replace it. I’d like to assure visitors that the new wall will look very similar to the current one in appearance.
“The plaques will temporarily be positioned on the existing wall near the current site and be easily accessible. We apologise for any disruption the works may cause our visitors”
They plan for the new wall to be completed and the plaques returned to it by the end of March.
