The arrival of a new museum in Tayside could have a knock-on effect for the Fife economy.
The Victoria and Albert Dundee museum is in the building process. Its London counterpart has been in existence since 1852 and is considered one of the world's leading art and design museums.
Tourism bosses hope that it will persuade visitors to flock south to enjoy Fife's tourist attractions.
Louise Purves from VisitScotland said:
"This is a hugely significant and renowned attraction and having it in Dundee is a fantastic opportunity for Tayside and Fife to really showcase their tourism offerings.
"Tourism is hugely important for creating jobs and sustaining communities, and that's exactly what it can do for Fife.
"Fife has a renowned tourism offering already, it has its golf, it has world famous food and drink as well as a rich history and heritage."
The Dundee V&A is due to open around 2018.
