Disruption on A92 for two months of resurfacing work

There's going to be disruption overnight on the A92 from Sunday for two months for resurfacing work.

It's taking place between Lochgelly and Cardenden until October 11, from the slip roads to the overbridge.

From August 18 until September 27 one lane will be shut east and westbound. There may need to be overnight convoy working.

There will then be a full closure eastbound from September 29 to October 11. A convoy system will be in place westbound.

Any work will take place overnight between 7.30pm and 6.30am Sunday to Thursday.

No work will take place on Friday or Saturday nights but there will be a 50mph temporary speed limit and diversions in place.

Drivers are being warned of an increase in journey times so should allow extra time and plan in advance.

It's costing £1.2 million and will improve two miles of the central reserve barrier system.

Amey says the project will benefit more than 48,000 vehicles who use the route every day.

Where is the diversion?

Traffic travelling east during the road closure should come off at Lochgelly and turn left, following the B9149 until the end.

Drivers should then turn right onto the B981 and head to Auchterderran.

At Auchterderran, people are being directed onto Main Street and Station Road in Cardenden, then traveling along Cardenden Road to Cluny.

From there drivers should turn right and join the A92 at the Chapel Junction.
