A £100million data centre could boost business regeneration in Fife.
The Queensway Park Data facility is set to store internet data via the cloud when it opens in 2016, and will be the largest of its kind in Scotland
The plans have been granted detailed planning consent by the local authority.
Council officials hope the centre at Queensway business park in Glenrothes will attract more firms to the area.
It will be powered by the wood-fuelled RWE Innology biomass plant at Tullis Russell, making it the first "green data" site in the UK.
The company behind the proposal say it will help Scotland compete globally.
