Cupar Cabinet Meeting

The Scottish Government Cabinet

The Scottish Government will hold a Cabinet meeting in Fife next month.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will host the talks in Cupar on Monday July 6 before a public Question and Answer session at Bell Baxter High School at 7pm that evening.

Ministers will also undertake a series of engagements at nearby businesses and organisations throughout the day.

It follows similar events in Dumfries, Aberdeen, Alloa and Inverness.

Ms Sturgeon said the Scottish Government is aiming to empower communities.

She said: “We believe the business of government should be open to everyone who wants to be involved and that is why the Scottish cabinet now meets in towns and cities across the country.

“Meeting and engaging with local communities, listening to their issues and delivering real change is what this government is all about.

“We have challenged ourselves to be the most open and accessible government that Scotland has ever seen, and cabinet meetings in towns such as Cupar are a fantastic way to deliver on this promise.

“I am looking forward to meeting local people and learning about the issues that are important to them.”
