A council tax rise in Fife is to take effect for the forthcoming financial year after it was backed by councillors.
For 2022/23, it'll rise by 3% at Band D equivalent.
At that particular band for 2021/22, the yearly charge for council tax is £1,280.80, but from April 1st, that annual charge will be £1,319.22.
48 councillors backed the motion, with eight voting against and 12 abstaining.
The SNP-Labour run local authority's final budget before the local government elections has been taking place today.
While the Liberal Democrats put forward an amendment, the Conservatives chose to abstain.
According to Fife Council, the new council tax charges for 2022/23, not including water and waste water charges, is to be as follows from the start of April (increase in brackets from the 2021/22 charge):
Band A: £879.48 (+£25.61)
Band B: £1,026.06 (+£29.88)
Band C: £1,172.64 (+£34.15)
Band D: £1,319.22 (+£38.42)
Band E: £1,733.31 (+£50.48)
Band F: £2,143.73 (+£62.43)
Band G: £2,583.48 (+£75.25)
Band H: £3,232.09 (+£94.13)
